The former Tunisian diplomat, Ambassador Ahmed Al-Qadidi, expected an escalation in Tunisia due to the obstruction of the situation.

Al-Hadidi believed that the only solution that Qais Saeed has is to rely on the International Monetary Fund, although Tunisia can exit the fund, as Turkey, Malaysia and others did.

These statements come at a time when the public sector strike that began Thursday (06/2022) has paralyzed various Tunisian airports and ports. the country, in protest against the decisions of President Qais Saeed.

Despite declaring his optimism that dialogue and wisdom will prevail among Tunisians, Al-Qadidi confirmed to the episode (16/2022) of the "Scenarios" program that without that, Tunisia will plunge Tunisia into complete darkness, noting that the country lives today in international isolation and is viewed as a rogue state, and that He who holds all powers lives in closure.

On the other hand, the Tunisian diplomat warned that Saied's abandonment of the UGTT would lead the country to the unknown.

For his part, Sabri Zghidi, a journalist for the People's Newspaper of the Tunisian General Labor Union, defended the union's position, saying that he was forced and pushed to announce the strike on June 16 because the doors of dialogue with the current government were closed, and said that President Said insisted on a unilateral approach.

It is noteworthy that the General Labor Union objects to the government's plans to implement a package of reforms demanded by the International Monetary Fund, as they conflict with the interests of the working class.

In this regard, Al-Zaghidi explained that the Fund knows that the Labor Union rejects the conditions it sets, including freezing wages, and it wants to create a crisis for the government and the presidency.

Regarding the expected scenario, the Tunisian journalist confirmed that the labor union put forward its demands and will hold a strike on June 16, and if the government and the presidency continue on the same approach, the country will witness a strike in the public sector and public service.

An inexperienced government

In the opinion of the professor of political thought at the Tunisian University, Dr. Abdel-Latif El-Hanachi, the problem lies in the fact that the labor union does not find a counterpart to interact with it, as the current government has no experience or will in the field of negotiation, while the union is a school in negotiations, stressing that the union has expressed Through his officials, he expressed his willingness to negotiate with the government if it announced its desire to do so, but the question is whether the negotiation will reach practical results, noting that parties are pushing towards aggravating the situation between the Labor Union, the Presidency of the State and the government.

Regarding the expected scenarios, Al-Hanashi indicated that the literature of the Tunisian General Labor Union says that he will not remain a spectator when he sees the country heading towards the abyss, but he ruled out an escalation and clash, because the regional powers and neighboring countries do not want that, Algeria needs stability in Tunisia and Libya is unstable, It is expected that an intervention process - which he did not specify - will come to find solutions between the presidency, the labor union and the rest of the actors.

On the other hand, he believed that disengaging from the International Monetary Fund is not an easy process and requires a broad national dialogue.
