Since its independence, India has been claiming to be the "largest democracy" in the world, and despite many flaws, deficiencies and loopholes, the world believed this claim, overlooking the thousands of sectarian unrest against Indian Muslims, the declaration of a state of emergency in the mid-1970s, the Sikh massacres (1984), the Gujarat massacres (2002), and the continuation of Persecution and violence against untouchables and tribes, and the persistence of caste in Indian society.

India has always shown the world that it is trying to catch up with the civilized world by adopting modern education, modernizing industry and agriculture, and this image has been shaken repeatedly, but it has managed to convince the world that it is striving to modernize its country and raise the level of hundreds of millions despite great difficulties.

Undoubtedly, there was a real desire to catch up with the modern world and bury the remnants of the dark ages, as represented by Jawaharlal Nehru's insistence on modernizing India and establishing the foundations of true democracy in it in the form of strong modern institutions.

Meanwhile, there were other powers that adored the dark ages and saw the deep past as the ideal that India should follow.

These forces believe that ancient India had everything that the world is proud of today, including aviation, missiles, high medicine, and the ability to implant bodies!

These dark forces reject the secular Indian constitution, reject the Indian three-colored flag and consider it a misfortune over India, preferring the saffron flag, and they refuse to give up the ancient “Manu” laws that established caste and untouchability and considered women an inferior gender than men, and these forces managed to form a powerful organization Under the leadership of RSS, India is now governed by its political branch (Indian People's Party) since May 2014.

These dark forces give great importance to force, and they worship the goddess of power (Durga), and they go out in an armed demonstration every year in various Indian cities to express their belief in force, and they worship weapons on a certain day of the year, and they always stand by the police and the army and support their transgressions and demand more of its advantages.

These dark forces also believe that India is for the Hindus, and by this means the upper classes of Hindus, and that religious minorities - especially Muslims and Christians - have no place in India, and if they remain there, they must accept what is given to them and do not demand any rights.

To demolish Muslim homes and shops when they oppose the Hindu mobs storming their neighborhoods, raising slogans of insult and humiliation of Islam and the Messenger of Islam and Muslims...etc, and the list is endless.

And the grievances against the Christians stopped quickly because they had strong supporters in the West and the Western embassies intervened in their favor, while the Muslims were orphans at the table of harmony.

The mistreatment of the authorities is represented in the form of police abuse of Muslims and not listening to their complaints, the bureaucracy’s indifference to Muslims, and the government taking steps related to Muslims one after the other, without consulting them, such as interfering with Islamic laws, canceling the autonomy of Kashmir, and attempting to strip millions of Muslims of Indian citizenship from Indian citizenship. By changing the Indian citizenship law, forcing millions of Muslims to protest in early 2020 against the attempt to strip them of their Indian citizenship, and they held hundreds of continuous demonstrations day and night across the country for 3 months before the government was able to disperse them by force, citing measures to confront Corona.

The bulldozers went out in the areas whose Muslims protested against the insult to the Noble Messenger in dozens of Indian cities in the last two weeks;

Thousands of Muslims were arrested across India, the property of hundreds of them were confiscated, and the homes of the "leaders" of the demonstrations were demolished.

During this period of demonstrations, which had no parallel in modern India, the government - especially in states governed by the Indian People's Party such as Uttar Pradesh - began arresting hundreds of protest leaders, imposing heavy fines on them, and confiscating their property or demolishing them "with a bulldozer".

And all this without following judicial procedures.

This was not the first use of the "bulldozer" in India, as it had used it for many years in Kashmir to demolish homes and buildings where separatist militants took shelter or fired from them.

The government also used the "bulldozer" to demolish the homes of what it calls "the mafia", while most of them were Muslim politicians who opposed the policies of the Indian People's Party.

And it came to the point that the "bulldozers" were used to demolish parts of Jowhar University in the city of Ram Bur, which was built by the Muslim leader and former minister Azam Khan, who is a strong opponent of the Indian People's Party, and about 80 cases were held against him so that he would not be released from prison, but he is now released After the intervention of the Supreme Court after spending 27 months in prison on flimsy charges.

The government always claims that it is taking demolition measures against "unauthorized buildings," although the buildings targeted are almost always for Muslims who speak out against government policies, and their buildings are not the only unlicensed structures in the area.

Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal said 70 percent of the Indian capital's buildings were "unauthorized", so would they be demolished?

The same applies to all other regions of India, where the agencies of government have failed to provide and facilitate the construction of new housing and shops to keep pace with the demands of society and a rapidly expanding economy;

Citizens built their homes and offices on agricultural and other land without waiting for long procedures.

The government's method of dealing with this problem was that it comes every few years and settles the status of certain neighborhoods and recognizes them, yet most of the new areas remained unlicensed.

Instead of taking action against this general problem, the government comes to demolish a Muslim house or shop opposed to it, and then claims that it is demolishing an “unauthorized” home, and that house or shop is surrounded by thousands of homes and shops of the same type on the same street and the same area, but no action is taken against it. Procedure!

And the widespread use of "bulldozers" began last April, when noisy Hindu demonstrations tried to enter Muslim neighborhoods in about 20 cities across 10 Indian states.

Everywhere Muslims tried to repel these provocative demonstrations, the "bulldozers" arrived quickly to demolish their homes, as happened in the "Jhangirpuri" area of the Indian capital on April 20 last.

Only a direct order from the Supreme Court saved "Jahangirpuri" to halt demolitions in that area, while demolitions continued in other areas, including dozens of areas of the Indian capital itself, in the following days.

And the "Bulldozers" came out again in the areas whose Muslims protested against the insult to the Noble Messenger in dozens of Indian cities in the past two weeks.

Thousands of Muslims were arrested across India, hundreds of their properties were confiscated, and the homes of several "leaders" of the demonstrations were demolished.

This was - as usual - on the pretext that they are "unlicensed" buildings, even though the targeted homes are located among thousands of "unlicensed" buildings!

It can be said that the new wave of using the "bulldozer" against the Muslim protest demonstrations in all parts of India, especially the state of Uttar Pradesh, is the Indian authorities' response to the humiliation and humiliation they were subjected to globally because of the abuse of the ruling party's leaders on the shrine of the Messenger of Islam, may God bless him and grant him peace.

Since the government can only remain silent and apologize to external forces, it directs its anger at the "internal enemy", which it sees as responsible for exaggerating the matter and conveying it to the outside world.

It is also an attempt to marginalize the Muslims of India, which remains a constant goal of the Hindu political movement to which the ruling party belongs.

Observers believe that the policies of marginalization and persecution against the Muslim minority will continue inside India despite the external reactions, because the ruling party benefits politically from this policy, which helps it to attract the votes of Hindus (80%) in the face of Muslims (less than 15%);

Which means that the party will continue to win the upcoming elections by deluding the Hindus that it is working for their interests and curbing and marginalizing Muslims. If it wasn't for the Indian People's Party, the Muslims of India would have been bullied and they would have become a majority in the country!

It is undoubtedly an illusion that has no reality on the ground, but this lie has political benefits when a good number of Hindu voters believe in it.

Whatever the case, the exit of the "Bulldozer" to implement the policies of the ruling party without observing the legal procedures followed in democratic countries and the resort of the rulers of India to the law of the jungle certainly means that the legend of the "largest democracy in the world" has been permanently perished under the rubble of demolished buildings.
