On the 16th of the last day of the Hokkaido Jingu Shrine's annual festival "Sapporo Festival", the "Mikoshi Watari", which had been canceled due to the influence of the new corona, was held for the first time in three years, and a procession of gorgeous mikoshi and floats paraded through the city of Sapporo. I did.

"Mikoshi Watari" started in 1891 to let the gods enshrined at Hokkaido Jingu Shrine see the prosperity of the city of Sapporo, but it was canceled last year due to the influence of the new corona. rice field.

For the first time in three years, this year's "Mikoshi Watari" was held after taking measures against infection, such as reducing the number of participants to less than half of the average year and wearing masks.

Participants dressed in gorgeous costumes left Hokkaido Jingu Shrine with four portable shrines and joined eight floats along the way, and the length of the procession exceeded one kilometer.

As the sounds of the flute and drums echoed, the gorgeous mikoshi and floats paraded around the city, and the people gathered along the road were waving their hands and taking pictures.

A woman who visited from Saitama Prefecture on a trip said, "I'm lucky to see it in Hokkaido because I haven't held festivals such as portable shrines in Saitama yet."
