Candidate works for the 167th Akutagawa Prize and Naoki Prize were announced, and five works were selected for each.

The Akutagawa Prize candidates are all women's works for the first time since the award was founded.

Mr. Takase was the second candidate, and the other four were selected for the first time this time.



According to the Society for the Promotion of Japanese Literature, it is the first time that all the candidate works have been made by women since the award was established in 1935.

Mr. Kubo, Mr. Wu, and Mr. Fukamidori were the third candidates, and Mr. Kawasaki and Mr. Nagai were selected for the first time.



The selection for the Akutagawa Prize and the Naoki Prize will be held on the 20th of next month.
