Who has never imagined themselves as an explorer of pyramids?

Torch in hand, strolling through the maze of corridors, buried in the depths of these pharaonic crypts.

This is the dream that the Arab World Institute wanted to make accessible, by calling on the French company Emessive.

For three years, engineers have recreated in virtual reality the mausoleum of Cheops, one of the seven wonders of the world.

“We are on something which is of the order of the avant-garde”, greeted Monday the director of the IMA, Jack Lang, praising a technical prowess with “very rigorous scientific content”.

Fifty people at a time

Equipped with a helmet and a backpack, the visitor first enters the heart of the pyramid before venturing into its galleries.

To guide him, the Egyptian goddess Bastet and "Mona", a tourist guide who is responsible for detailing the prowess of the construction of the pyramids, or even the meaning of the gods...

In total, around fifty people can take part in this immersive experience at the same time.

The cost of the experience is 29 euros per person, and 24 euros per person for a group of four minimum.
