The newspapers said that the case was discussed, after a request from a member of the Culture and Tourism Committee, Ahmed Qinawy, and after statements by the famous representative, Yahya Al-Fakharani, also a member of the Senate, that his writer wife, Lamis Jaber, does not like this dress and considers it more shameful than the bikini. .

During the past years, the issue of banning some tourist villages and hotels from wearing the burkini was raised.

Last month, Lamis Jaber criticized the attempt of "some people who move their culture to another place and try to arm the place according to their mood," adding, "This is a mistake."

Although she said that she could not bear to wear a bikini, "especially because I am a Sa'idi," she said that "the laws and regulations stipulated in the place where a person goes must be followed."

She said in televised statements: "Any hotel has the right to decide what he wants, and the guest decides whether he will agree to these conditions or not, and if he does not like it, let him go to another place," adding that "whoever wears a burkini and covers her body from top to bottom, embarrasses the woman who wears the bikini next to her." ".

On the other hand, Representative Ahmed El-Kenawy, who presented the proposal, considered that the burkini has become a global phenomenon, and that any citizen has the right to wear the appropriate dress and beliefs as long as it does not affect the freedom of others.

Committee member, journalist Imad Hussein, said in televised statements that officials in the Ministry of Tourism and the General Authority for New Urban Communities of the Ministry of Housing confirmed that they had not issued instructions prohibiting the wearing of this uniform, noting that the constitution guaranteed the personal freedoms of citizens.

But he said that the law does not prevent some facilities from adopting special internal regulations, pointing out that some contracts in some tourist villages, which are signed between owners and tourism development companies, stipulate wearing a certain dress in swimming pools.

The committee recommended issuing and circulating a circular to all tourist authorities and villages, regarding the controls and rules for going to the swimming pools, taking into account the personal freedoms guaranteed by the Egyptian constitution, and confirmed that it is ready to receive all complaints from citizens during the summer season in this regard and move to resolve it in coordination and cooperation with the relevant authorities of the Ministry of Tourism and the Tourism Authority.
