Following a series of reports of "monkeypox" mainly in Europe and the United States, the WHO = World Health Organization announced that it will hold an urgent committee of experts on the 23rd of this month.

It is expected to consider whether the spread of this infection is a "public health emergency of international concern".

WHO Secretary-General Tedros revealed at a regular press conference on the 14th that the number of cases of "monkeypox" reported mainly in Europe and the United States has exceeded 1,600 so far.

"It's clear that the virus is behaving abnormally like never before. It's affecting more countries and needs a coordinated response," said experts from each country on the 23rd of this month. It has been revealed that an urgent committee will be held to discuss future measures.

The urgent committee is expected to consider whether the spread of this infection is a "public health emergency of international concern" based on the latest situation.

In the past, a state of emergency was declared when the Ebola hemorrhagic fever and polio infection spread, and in January when the new coronavirus infection spread.
