Regarding the large-scale leak that is occurring at the water intake facility in Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture, the Tokai Regional Agricultural Administration Bureau announced on the 14th that it will start emergency work to prevent water from flowing into the place where there is a hole in the riverbed.

The policy is to complete the construction work by the end of next month and secure the same amount of water intake as normal.

Due to the large-scale leaks that occur at the intake facility in Toyota City, agricultural water is supplied every three days, and industrial water is still limited to about 50% of the normal amount.

Under these circumstances, the Tokai Regional Agricultural Administration Bureau held a press conference on the 13th and announced that it would start emergency work on the 14th to prevent water from flowing into the place where there is a hole in the bottom of the river that is causing water leakage.

We are planning to drive large sandbags around the place where there is a hole and then pile up large sandbags, aiming for completion by the end of next month.

In addition, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Administration is also proceeding with construction to dam the water in order to raise the water level around the water intake, and since the work is almost completed, water intake can be resumed from the original intake within this week. It is a prospect.

The Tokai Regional Agricultural Administration Bureau has a policy of securing water intake at the same level as normal through these two constructions.

At the press conference, Katsutoshi Kobayashi said, "Since the amount of water taken by the emergency pump is only the minimum required amount, we would like to resume natural water intake as soon as possible so that we can secure stable water."
