RFI's media workshop
invites you to discover an original device in the French media landscape, more precisely within one of the French public audiovisual groups: Radio France.
In January 2016, a fact-checking service was created within the continuous news channel France Info.
The journalists who make up this atypical team take the time necessary to cross-check the information before it is given on the antennas of the Radio France group, even when it comes from the highly respected Agence France-Presse (AFP).
What was originally called Agence France Info
became Agence Radio France in March 2022
, proof of the importance given to this pioneering system, the sustainability of which seems to have become obvious.
Estelle Cognacq
, deputy director of franceinfo and director of Agence Radio France, returns to the microphone of
L'atelier des media
on the context in which Agence franceinfo was born, following the media frenzy of the
Charlie Hebdo
attacks but also the death of Martin Bouygues wrongly announced by AFP in 2015. The one who created Agence France info and was its first editor-in-chief explains in concrete terms how the team was formed and how it works on a daily basis with and for France Info, France Inter and France Bleu.
