Off the coast of Naha Port in Okinawa Prefecture, a marine cleaning activity was carried out using a personal watercraft to clean places that are difficult to reach by ship.

This initiative was carried out by enthusiasts of personal watercraft and others in an attempt to clean Naha Port, which is the gateway to the sea in Okinawa, and 20 people participated.

Participants boarded a personal watercraft in pairs and headed for the breakwater off the coast of Naha Port.

Then, I used a net to scoop up driftwood, plastic shopping bags, and plastic trash floating in places where it was difficult for the ship to approach.

In the activity on the 12th, it took about 2 hours to collect the garbage for one light truck.

A man from Uruma City said, "I was surprised that there was a lot of garbage on the sea."

Fumiaki Takakoshi, chairman of the Okinawa Prefecture Watercraft Safety Association, a group of watercraft enthusiasts who sponsored the event, said, "There was a lot of garbage because it was raining a lot. I want to continue my activities in the future. "
