A special product "Akita butterbur" was harvested in Akita City, and the participating children were surprised at the taller "Akita butterbur" and tried to harvest it.

The reaping experience was held by farmers in the Niida area of Akita City, and about 80 people participated.

"Akita Fuki", which is also used in the folk song "Akita Ondo", is characterized by its large stem length of about 1.5 meters and leaf diameter of about 1.3 meters.

The children who participated were surprised at "Akita butterbur", which is taller than their own, and cut from the root with a sickle with the help of a farmer.

Some children enjoyed the big "Akita butterbur" in a kakage like the Kanto Festival in Akita City.

The harvested "Akita butterbur" is cooked at each home.

A girl in the third grade of elementary school who participated said, "I saw Akita butterbur for the first time. I was surprised at how big it was."

Mr. Ikuko Sato, who sponsored the event, said, "Since the number of farmers is decreasing, I would like to have children cut and cook Akita butterbur so that they can feel closer to them and preserve the tradition of Akita butterbur."
