The survey, which included a random sample of 108 children from the age group 4 to 12 years old, showed a low percentage of those who indicated their knowledge of emergency numbers that should be called in the event of facing dangers such as fire, or when needing to call an ambulance, as it was found that 71% of children do not know The child help number, 74% do not know the police number, 94% do not know the ambulance number, and 89% do not know the civil defense number.

Director of the Child Safety Department in Sharjah, Hanadi Al Yafei, said: “The results demonstrated the need to intensify efforts and cooperation in order to raise awareness among children, and to devise ways to make them keep important emergency numbers for use in times that require this, and we seek to benefit from the results to launch an innovative awareness campaign, focusing on this side.”

On the other hand, the result showed positive indicators in other axes of the survey, as the percentage of those who know the phone number of one of the parents reached 72%, and the percentage of those who use the seat belt was 72%.
