The "NHK Student Robocon 2022" was held in which students from all over the country competed for technical skills and ideas with their own robots, and Toyohashi University of Technology in Aichi Prefecture won the championship.

This year's tournament was held at the gymnasium in Ota Ward, Tokyo, after thorough basic infection control measures, and teams from 16 universities nationwide that passed the pre-selection participated.

The competition is based on the game "Lagori" in India, where each participating team uses two robots to stack up columnar towers and get in the way to compete for points.

In the final match, the team of Toyohashi University of Technology, who steadily scored points and fought off the opponent's attack, won the championship and decided to participate in the "ABU Asia-Pacific Robot Contest" scheduled to be held online in August. ..

Mr. Takumi Kusuhara of Toyohashi University of Technology said, "I was surprised at the excellent parts of the other robot, but I was able to survive with the power of the team."

The tournament will be broadcast on NHK General TV on the 18th of next month.
