The Wujiang River originates in Guizhou, flows through northern Guizhou and southeastern Chongqing, and enters the Yangtze River in Fuling, Chongqing. The main stream is 1037 kilometers long and is one of the eight major tributaries of the Yangtze River.

After 2003, due to the construction of cascade hydropower stations, this "golden waterway" was temporarily suspended.

In 2021, the entire Wujiang waterway, which has been interrupted for nearly 20 years, will be resumed for the first time on a large scale, and the Wujiang River will return to the prosperous scene of the "golden waterway".
