According to the National Police Agency's investigation of more than 3,700 people arrested so far for being involved in the illegal receipt of "sustainable benefits" provided by the government to businesses affected by the new coronavirus, 20 by age group. It was found that young people in their teens or younger account for nearly 70% of the total.

The National Police Agency believes that there are many cases of easy and fraudulent involvement through SNS and other media.

Sustainable benefits are a system that provides up to 2 million yen for small and medium-sized enterprises and up to 1 million yen for sole proprietors to businesses whose sales have dropped significantly due to the effects of the new coronavirus.

Applications were closed in February last year, but according to the National Police Agency, 3,770 people have been arrested nationwide for being involved in fraudulent receipts by last month, and even this month. Fraud has been discovered one after another, including the arrest of officials of the Tokyo National Police Agency.

Under these circumstances, when the National Police Agency investigated the arrested 3770 people, it was found that by age group, young people in their 20s or younger accounted for about 2,500 people, accounting for nearly 70% of the total.

Looking at other age groups, there are 500 people in their 30s, 300 people in their 40s, 200 people in their 50s, and 150 people in their 60s and above.

Regarding this situation, the National Police Agency has been asked to become the holder of the lie application through SNS etc., and it seems that there are many cases where they were easily and illegally involved.

Police nationwide are planning to continue the investigation, saying that fraud may be discovered in the future.
