According to the China Earthquake Networks, at 0:30 on June 10, an earthquake of magnitude 5.8 occurred in Malkang City, Aba Prefecture, Sichuan (32.27 degrees north latitude, 101.82 degrees east longitude), with a focal depth of 10 kilometers; at 1:28, Malkang City, Aba Prefecture, Sichuan (32.25 degrees north latitude, 101.82 degrees east longitude) an earthquake of magnitude 6.0 occurred with a focal depth of 13 kilometers.
The average altitude within 5 kilometers of the epicenter was about 3691 meters.

After the earthquake, the Office of the State Council Earthquake Relief Headquarters and the Emergency Management Department immediately launched a four-level national earthquake emergency response.
The Emergency Management Department dispatched a working group to Sichuan overnight to guide and assist local governments in carrying out earthquake relief work.
At present, 450 fire rescue teams from Sichuan Province and 370 forest fire teams are rushing to the epicenter to carry out rescue efforts. A total of more than 1,280 people from 8 heavy and 8 light earthquake rescue teams in the surrounding area have been assembled to prepare for emergency rescue.
