Editor's note:

Every Chinese who works hard to live is the most beautiful struggler.

It is precisely because of hundreds of millions of strugglers that China is today.

For ten years, pay tribute to every struggle of you.

Let us work together to forge ahead in the new era, and work hard towards the future.

[Explanation] Recently, a reporter from China News Agency walked into Shiban Village, Jiuqian Town, Sandu County, Guizhou Province, the only Shui Autonomous County in China, and saw a different scene inside and outside a century-old stone wall: the dry-column wooden buildings in the wall are row upon row, the water granary , century-old wells and other facilities with traces of the farming era can be seen everywhere.

[Explanation] Pan Yongxian, a "post-80s" Shui nationality youth and party branch secretary of Shiban Village, introduced to reporters that during the Republic of China, out of the need to protect the village, the villagers built this stone wall with a height of 2 meters and a thickness of more than 1 meter around the stockade.

More than ten years ago, most of the villagers lived in stone walls, and the living environment was poor due to factors such as "border, remote, and poor".

The changes in our Shiban Village in the past ten years are that you can see the difference between the inside of the fence and the outside of the fence.

Ten years ago, we lived in these relatively simple wooden houses inside the fence. At that time, the pigs, cattle and horses were fed downstairs, and people lived upstairs. The mixed living environment of people and animals was dirty, messy, and poor.

(At that time) there was only one cement road in the village, less than one kilometer, and there was no industry. The collective economy was a shell village with zero.

[Explanation] In 2016, Pan Yongxian, who had worked hard for many years and achieved little success in Jiangsu, took the initiative to come back to run for secretary of the village party branch and actively participate in the upsurge of building his hometown because he couldn't bear to see that his hometown had been lagging behind.

Whether a village can develop or not depends on the development ideas of the village cadres. This is really critical and very important.

After visiting and communicating with the masses, (I found) in fact, everyone in our masses wants to change, and we all long for someone to drive them to start a business.

[Explanation] After returning to his hometown, Pan Yongxian first started by grasping the team and leading the team, and twisted the forces of the "two committees" of the village into a single rope.

In July 2016, Pan Yongxian organized a training conference on poverty alleviation and entrepreneurship in the village by taking advantage of the opportunity of the Shui Nationality to celebrate the 90th year.

This conference brought a turning point for many people in the village who were struggling to make a living.

More than 470 people participated in our training day. On the day of the training, there were those who were short of funds for starting a business. We called the president of the bank to also come to the scene. For those who did not understand the policies for starting a business, we called the Employment Bureau, as well as the Industry and Commerce Bureau, the Agriculture Bureau, and the Poverty Alleviation Bureau. They were all called to the scene, and through that training, more than 50 young and talented people who had started businesses outside were attracted to return to their hometowns to start businesses.

[Explanation] After that, based on the resource endowment of Shiban Village, Pan Yongxian led the villagers to set up a joint-stock cooperative to develop tea, kiwi fruit and beekeeping in the forest, and plant Nanbanlangen in the mountains... After several years of homeopathic development, the villagers have been lifted out of poverty and increased their income. .

In 2021, Shiban Village will hold a joint-stock cooperative dividend distribution ceremony, with a total dividend of 4.3 million yuan, of which the two members with the most dividends will receive more than 510,000 yuan in dividends.

Before 2018, I was still a poor household. There were seven people in my family, mainly relying on farming and raising cattle. The annual income was about 7,000 to 8,000 yuan. After that, I changed my thinking. By planting indigo together to increase the family's income, (planting indigo) can earn about 120,000 to 130,000 yuan a year in addition to labor costs.

[Explanation] As the industry outside the stone wall becomes more and more prosperous, the pockets of the villagers living inside the stone wall are bulging, and they have built small two-story houses outside the wall.

Where will Shibanzhai, a traditional ancient village with a history of hundreds of years, go from here?

Pan Yongxian has drawn a blueprint in his mind.

The old houses in our stockade and the surrounding ancient buildings, ancient city walls and ancient trees are well protected, so I want to make full use of this resource to create rural tourism.

[Explanation] The reporter saw in Shibanzhai that house repairs are currently underway in the village. 72 dilapidated houses, 15 old houses and 15 water granaries have been repaired. In the future, aquarium rural tourism will be developed here.

Now we see this is the old house of our family, and it has been living for many years. Next, I plan to make this old house a homestay, because it is halfway up the mountain. When you open the window in the morning, you can see our stone slab village. The panoramic view can bring tourists a good visual experience.

[Explanation] A wall has witnessed the great changes of Shiban Village in the past ten years.

Nowadays, many young people who go out to work choose to return to their hometowns for development.

Pan Yongxian hopes that the next generation can learn about the development and changes of their hometown through the old house while enjoying a happy life.
