"I have been helped by too many people along the way, and I was able to hold a chalk and stand on a three-foot podium." On June 8, at Fuluping Primary School, Dongli Town, Yiyuan County, Zibo City, a "post-90s" female teacher Ren Jilan is teaching the students.
From the moment she stepped into the teaching position, she always reminded herself that there is no reason not to work hard.
Ren Jilan is the winner of the 26th China Youth May Fourth Medal.
She was born in Chenjiagou Village, Zhangjiapo Town, Yiyuan County in 1992. She grew up in a poor family and was forced to suspend school twice. She was able to complete her studies with the help of caring people.
On the way to school, she once took her sick mother to college, "washing vegetables and making a fire one second, and sitting in class the next second".
Although life was full of hardships, she always faced it bravely.

After graduating from college in 2017, Ren Jilan gave up the opportunity to work in a big city and returned to his hometown to become a rural teacher.
"There are relatives and elders at home as teachers, and I like children myself." Ren Jilan told reporters that there are many left-behind children in the school, and she uses her spare time to chat with the children and make regular home visits.
Her colleague told reporters that in order to be closer to the children, Ren Jilan eats and lives at the school.
"The year I was admitted to the university, the tuition fee was not available, and I wanted to give it up at that time." Ren Jilan said that at that time, Li Zhenhua, a model worker in the national education system, handed the tuition fee to her so that she could complete her studies.
"For me, Mr. Li Zhenhua has helped me financially and spiritually, and it has made me firmer in my belief that I want to engage in the teaching profession."

Since the first year of teaching, Ren Jilan has taken part of her modest salary to support two students from particularly difficult families.
"I must never let my students drop out of school because of poor families." Ren Jilan told reporters that the two students she sponsored were very fond of learning and willing to learn. She hoped that she could do her best to give them a little help.
"I have received help from too many people since I was a child, and I just want to do such a small thing to pass on the love I have gained to others."
"The days I thought I couldn't survive, but now I look back and I've come over." Ren Jilan said that she once completed her studies while taking care of her sick parents. She had to endure the fear and helplessness of seeing the critical illness notice, I have to bear the medical expenses that are beyond my ability, and I have endured hardships that many my peers have never experienced.
"But I feel like an ordinary 'post-90s', doing my best to do what I need to do, working hard, not letting myself regret, and working hard to achieve my goals and life value."

Ren Jilan is currently teaching Chinese.
She admitted that although what she can bring to the children is very limited, she will work hard to teach every class well and teach them the knowledge and truth of being a human being.
"During the five years I have been teaching, I have paid close attention to the physical and mental health and learning status of the students, and hope that the children can grow into upright, warm, kind and responsible people."
"There are many better people than me, and I will continue to work hard to improve myself." Now that Ren Jilan is a mother, when it comes to future planning, she hopes to devote herself to teaching work, study hard to improve teaching level, and help elementary school students Children, lay a solid foundation for life learning and provide possibilities for a longer-term learning career in the future.
