After the sheep prison incident... the arrest of a bull that killed a boy in South Sudan

South Sudanese police have seized a bull and arrested its owner after it killed a 12-year-old boy, just days after a ram was sentenced to three years in an army camp for the murder.

Police said the bull, which was pulling a plow, was walking near a farm in the central Lakes state last week when it attacked the boy, killing him on the spot.

"The bull is now under arrest at a police station in the central district of Rumbek, and the boy was taken to hospital for an autopsy and taken home for burial," police spokesman Elijah Mabur said.

The attack comes less than a month after the arrest of a sheep in the eastern Rumbek County of Lakes State and the imposition of a fine on its owner, after he assaulted a woman, who died as a result.
