The first teaser trailer for the prequel to Major Grom: The Plague Doctor, Major Grom: A Difficult Childhood, has been released online.

The roles in the film mix are performed by Kai Getz, Sergey Marin, Alexei Vedernikov, Daniil Vorobyov and Vladimir Yaganov.

The director of the project is Oleg Trofim, and Artyom Gabrelyanov, Evgeny Fedotov and Ekaterina Krasner are responsible for the script.

The childhood of the future Major Grom takes place in alternative St. Petersburg in the "dashing 90s", where the crime boss Anubis appears.

Igor's father, police officer Konstantin Grom, together with his colleague Fedor Prokopenko, are trying to find and neutralize the criminal.

Meanwhile, Igor himself and his friend Ignat get involved in a dubious adventure to earn money.

At the beginning of the video, Igor plays chess with his father.

The father is strong in the game, but gives a hint to his son - you can defeat him in three moves.

“Think,” says Grom Sr., “until you find the only right solution.”

At the same time, crime is rampant in the city, the trade in illicit substances is flourishing, on which suppliers earn a lot of money, and unknown people perform mysterious rituals with fire.

Filming took place in the pavilions of Lenfilm - they recreated the heroes' apartment, previously shown in the film Major Grom: The Plague Doctor - in the Marble Palace, as well as on St. Isaac's Square.

“Peter in the film is an alternate reality.

But it has a bit of nostalgia for the 1990s.

The design of St. Petersburg remained the same as in the original.

We have preserved the image of the ceremonial Petersburg, but it will be transformed, will bear the character of the times.

There will be a little more chaos, colors, as we look through the eyes of a child at this time, ”says Oleg Trofim.

"Major Grom: Difficult Childhood" is "an action-packed prequel filled with shocking events, unexpected twists and unforgettable new characters," said screenwriter and producer Artyom Gabrelyanov.

According to him, there is not much information about Igor's childhood in the comics, and this is what prompted the authors of the project to make a movie about him and show the audience what shaped the character and life principles of the future Major Grom.

It is known that in the tape there will be references to the cinema and popular culture of the 1990s.

The role of little Igor Grom was played by Kai Getz, known for his role as Sasha in Alexander Molochnikov's drama Tell Her.

His father, Igor, is played by Sergei Marin, the star of the TV series "Deathbreakers".

Interestingly, Marin auditioned for the role of Igor Grom, but the directors felt that in terms of his energy, he was more like his father.

The performer of the role of Thunder Jr. noted that, while working on the image of his hero, he tried to adopt some of the features already shown on the screen by Tikhon Zhiznevsky in The Plague Doctor.

“Before filming, I watched The Plague Doctor to find some features of the hero played by Tikhon Zhiznevsky and adopt them.

For example, I noticed that Igor rubs his right earlobe when he is nervous.

By the way, the most interesting thing is that just a week before the start of filming, I really fell in love with shawarma, ”Kinopoisk quotes Kai Getz.

According to Oleg Trofim, an important task of the project is “to build bridges throughout the universe (logical, plot, accent, and even some emotional ones) with an already existing film,” as well as a project that may be filmed later.

The premiere will take place during the New Year holidays in 2023.

Oleg Trofim's film "Major Grom: The Plague Doctor" was released on April 1, 2021.

In addition to Zhiznevsky, Lyubov Aksyonova, Sergey Goroshko, Alexei Maklakov, Alexander Seteykin, Dmitry Chebotarev and others appeared in the tape.

The plot was based on the series of Russian comics "Major Grom" published by Bubble.

A short film by Vladimir Besedin "Major Grom" with Alexander Gorbatov was also filmed based on them.

The projects describe the activities of an experienced and incorruptible investigator from St. Petersburg, Major Igor Grom.

In the full-length picture, the hero tries to stop the Plague Doctor - he wears a characteristic mask and kills rich and influential people who have committed crimes and remain unpunished.

The Doctor himself claims that in this way he heals the city from the "plague of iniquity."

The film, released during the coronavirus pandemic, was not very successful at the box office - its fees amounted to 317.7 million, while the production, according to the Kinoafisha portal, took 600 million. The authors of the project expected that the tape would collect from 500 million to 1 .5 billion rubles.

Nevertheless, the picture was warmly received by both Russian and foreign audiences - on July 7, 2021, the movie comic was released on the Netflix video service.

A day later, "Major Grom: The Plague Doctor" became the most popular film on the site.

The tape entered the top 10 in more than 60 countries, in 14 of them it became the most viewed.

The audience praised the high-quality special effects, well-developed characters, humor and plot.
