  Coal gangue is a by-product of coal mining, washing and processing, accounting for about 15% of coal output. It is dumped for a long time, occupying land resources and polluting the environment.

After I graduated from school in 1997 and came to the mine, the first job I participated in was dumping gangue. At that time, the production conditions were relatively simple. After the gangue was pulled to the edge of the ditch by the dustpan, it was dumped to the bottom of the ditch. Eco-friendly, covering concept.

  [Explanation] Today, the "green" treatment of coal gangue has become the norm. Fire-fighting treatment, platform shaping, loess rolling, and greening have been restored to a green mountain of about 219,000 square meters and planted with more than 30 kinds of green plants.

  [Explanation] Shanxi Coking Coal's other coal company, Shanxi Coal International Jingfang Coal Industry Co., Ltd., in recent years, under the pressure of environmental protection, the mining area has continued to push technological progress and management innovation with the goal of "double carbon".

The coal gangue in the coal-producing area is transmitted to the building materials factory through a closed channel. After being ground into powder, the coal gangue is mixed with other substances, and then enters the brick-making production line through the conveyor belt, where it is dried, fired, and cooled. After 7 days, the gangue is formed. brick.

  [Explanation] The waste heat generated in the above process is treated by cooling to provide heat sources for office areas, production areas, wellhead antifreeze and employee bathing, replacing all coal-fired boilers in the mining area, saving more than 10,000 tons of standard coal annually, and also reducing carbon dioxide, Sulfur dioxide emissions.

  Our new building materials factory can fully utilize the more than 200,000 tons of gangue discharged from coal mines every year, and at the same time recycle and reuse the waste heat generated in the process of brick making, replacing all coal-fired boilers in the mining area.

  [Explanation] Reducing carbon dioxide emissions from power plants is also one of the paths for Shanxi to achieve the "double carbon" goal.

Shanxi Coking Coal Xishan Coal Power Gujiao Xingneng Power Plant under the jurisdiction of Gujiao City in Taiyuan is a typical coal-fired pit head power plant in the country.

  [Explanation] In 2018, with the commissioning of the third phase, Gujiao Xingneng Power Plant assumed the heating task of 76 million square meters, accounting for 36% of the total heating area in Taiyuan, replacing a large number of small and medium-sized decentralized coal-fired boilers in the heating area houses and "urban village" small boilers, as well as 321 decentralized coal-fired heating boilers.

  [Explanation] This change has reduced Taiyuan's emissions of carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, and dust by 2.18 million tons, 68,000 tons, 33,000 tons, and 29,000 tons, respectively.

  In the initial stage of the establishment of the power plant, the pressure of environmental pollution mainly came from the fly ash produced by thermal power generation.

The power plant needs to process 1.5 million tons of fly ash every year, part of which is transported to the cement factory to make cement, and most of the rest is filled into the valley.

  [Explanation] In 2020, through technological innovation, the Tunlan Mine made a slurry of fly ash and filled it into the abscission space to prevent surface collapse caused by coal mining.

Energy saving, emission reduction and efficiency increase, serve multiple purposes with one stone.
