China News Service, Guiyang, June 4th (Yuan Chao Shikui) For the past few days, Guizhou has experienced extensive torrential rain.

On the 4th, Li Yang, a senior engineer and director of the Guiyang Meteorological Observatory, said in an interview with a reporter from Chinanews.com that there is still a probability of debris flow after the rainstorm.

  What is a mudslide?

Li Yang said that debris flow refers to a special torrent that carries a large amount of sediment and solid materials such as rocks due to precipitation, snow and ice melt in mountainous areas or other areas with deep ravines and steep terrain.

The difference between a debris flow and a flash flood is that the content of solid debris such as mud and gravel is different, and the sand and gravel content of a debris flow is greater than 15%.

Li Yang believes that the occurrence of debris flow must have a certain valley slope terrain, sufficient water and a large amount of loose soil and rock, and the energy conditions, excitation conditions and material conditions are indispensable.

The main time period for mudslides in Guizhou is from June to September. The reason is that from June to September is the main rainy season in Guizhou superimposed on typical karst landforms.

"Due to various reasons such as topography, geology, etc., a heavy rainstorm, heavy rainstorm, or extremely heavy rainstorm is often easy to cause debris flow." Li Yang said that the risk level of debris flow during heavy rain is high. There is a possibility of a mudslide.

The reason is that after the rainstorm, the soil moisture content is high and the soil is soft, especially after the temperature rises rapidly, the ground is dry and cracked, and the stress state of different soil layers changes, which easily induces debris flow.

At the same time, the underground runoff that is not easy to find is also easy to induce debris flow.

How to reduce the possible disasters caused by mudslides?

Li Yang introduced that relevant departments should increase the monitoring and inspection of hidden danger points of geological disasters, ensure that soil guarding is responsible and responsible, and timely disposal of hidden dangers; strengthen inspections on roads, railway slopes, and deep valleys; strengthen risk awareness, Relevant departments can check the accumulated precipitation in different time periods in Guizhou Province, the movement of precipitation clouds, early warning, etc. through the decision-making user section of the "Tianjing Online" applet at any time, so as to avoid obtaining meteorological information by "waiting". You can take the initiative to use the "Tianjing applet" to get the information you need with one click; the public must strengthen their awareness of disaster prevention and hedging. one.

According to the monitoring of the Guiyang Meteorological Observatory, from 8:00 on June 1 to 8:00 on the 4th, there was a heavy rainfall in Gui'an, Guiyang. A total of 13 rainfall monitoring stations had accumulated rainfall of 100 mm or more. The maximum rainfall was in Wangguan, Xiuwen County. The accumulated rainfall was 169.4 mm.

On the 4th, the continuous rainy weather in Guiyang finally stopped, and the highest temperature rose to 28 ℃ in the afternoon.

The weather forecast indicates that there will be no more persistent heavy precipitation, heavy rain and heavy rain in the next 4 days.
