According to the China Railway Chengdu Bureau Group Co., Ltd., at about 10:30 on June 4, the D2809 passenger train from Guiyang North to Guangzhou South was traveling in front of the Rongjiang Station of Qiandongnan Prefecture on the Guiyang-Guangzhou (Zhou) Line. At the entrance of the Yuezhai Tunnel, it hit a mudslide that suddenly slipped into the line, causing the No. 7 and No. 8 trains to go off the line, injuring one driver, one conductor and seven passengers. 

  The railway department quickly activated the emergency plan, and the injured were sent to Rongjiang County Hospital for full-scale treatment. The injured passengers and conductors have been properly treated, and their lives were not in danger. The train driver died unfortunately.

The other 136 passengers on the train have been evacuated.

  At present, the rescue work at the scene has been fully launched, and the cause of the accident is under investigation.
