On June 3, local time, the "World Bicycle Day" cycling event was held in Nur-Sultan, the capital of Kazakhstan.

  On the same day, the event was held in a park on the southern outskirts of Nur-Sultan, with a total length of 30 kilometers. It was also to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA).

  The event was hosted by the CICA Secretariat and co-organized by the Nur-Sultan Municipal Government, the United Nations Representative Office in Kazakhstan and the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Kazakhstan.

About 100 people including representatives of foreign diplomatic missions in Kazakhstan, representatives of international organizations and bicycle enthusiasts attended the event.

  On April 12, 2018, the 72nd UN General Assembly adopted a resolution to designate June 3 every year as the "World Bicycle Day" to advocate green travel.

Every year on World Bicycle Day, various cycling events are held around the world.
