The purpose is to stop the prevailing premiums on concert tickets on the secondary market.

In May, the Riksdag hammered out the law change in consumer protection, which makes it illegal to resell tickets to events if "the trader has bought the tickets through the use of automated means" - that is, via electronic ticket fines.

The new rules have been developed jointly at EU level.

Joppe Pihlgren, operations manager at the industry organization Svensk Live, is basically positive about the initiative.

"It is good that the EU is introducing this law and it will hopefully contribute to making it more difficult for the frivolous sale of second-hand tickets," he told DN.

The amendment will enter into force on 1 September 2022.
