It's time for the census in the Vaucluse, but not just any census: the bat census!

The Mont Ventoux natural regional park invites residents to communicate the presence of these birds near their homes, reports

.

The park produces its atlas of communal biodiversity (ABC) in order to better understand and protect the fauna and flora of the region.

In this context, he wants to identify the presence of bats in the municipalities of Vaison-la-Romaine, Crestet, Entrechaux, Faucon and Puyméras.

36 species of bats in France

Bats often nest in human buildings while giving birth and raising their young.

If you live in one of the municipalities concerned and have observed these animals at home or in a nearby building, you can list them on the park's website.

Bats are an essential element of biodiversity.

They feed on a lot of insects and need trees, ponds and diverse landscapes in their environment.

In France, there are 36 different species of bats, 24 of which have already been observed in the Vaucluse, notes
