The "Pingyao Venture Capital" unit is set up for Chinese-language feature-length film script projects (including animated feature films) that have the potential to be released in theaters or online streaming media platforms, and is committed to providing industrial communication, resource interaction and financing for these script projects and emerging Chinese-language creators. A platform that provides incubation opportunities for outstanding works.
Through the platform of Pingyao International Film Festival, a number of script works that have emerged in the "Pingyao Venture Capital" unit have cooperated extensively with film companies, and have successfully completed the shooting or are about to enter the shooting stage.
For example, the 2019 shortlisted project "Life Events" will be released nationwide; the 2019 award-winning project "Gentle Shell" will be completed in 2020; the 2021 shortlisted project "Moonlight Warrior" has been completed at the end of last year.
The "Developing Film Project" unit is set up for Chinese-language feature film projects that have passed project approval, are still in development and production, and have completed at least 30 minutes of initial editing.
As the earliest industrial unit established at the Pingyao International Film Festival, the "Developing Film Project" aims to build a communication platform for film creators, industry professionals and festival planners, and to provide support and assistance for the later development of outstanding film projects.
After five years, many outstanding film projects and creators have been discovered, and the "Developing Film Project" unit has become a key unit of the Pingyao International Film Festival.

The Pingyao International Film Festival was founded in 2017. The industry section, together with film exhibitions, academia, and education, together constitute the four major sections of the Pingyao International Film Festival, and it has become one of the most concerned sections of the film industry in the Pingyao Film Festival.
The 6th Pingyao International Film Festival 2022 is planned to be held in the Pingyao Film Palace in the ancient city of Pingyao, Jinzhong City, Shanxi Province in October this year.
