At 17:00 on June 1, a magnitude 6.1 earthquake occurred in Lushan County, Ya'an City, Sichuan Province. On June 2, the reporter saw at Pingxiang Building, located in Lushan County, that this ancient building built in the Northern Song Dynasty was "comfortable".
It is understood that the Pingxiang Building faces the north and faces the south. It is a beam-lifting wooden bucket arch building on the top of the mountain with triple eaves. The eaves of the north and south are the same style, with five bays and eighteen ridges. The building is 14 meters high and covers an area of 202 square meters.
It is supported by eighteen large columns all around, with eight large column top beams inside, and the upper and lower eaves are supported by thirty-eight sets of bucket arches. The whole building does not need rivets, and the structure is exquisite.
Pingxiang Building was built in the Northern Song Dynasty to commemorate Jiang Wei, the Marquis of Pingxiang, the general of Shu in the Three Kingdoms.
In 2006, Pingxiang Building was announced as the sixth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
The cultural relics department will inspect and test the Pingxiang Building.
