For the first time in 20 years, French diplomats are on strike.

At the heart of the critics: the abolition of the diplomatic corps provided for in the reform of the senior civil service.

The government plans to create a common pot of state administrators who could circulate from one ministry to another.

But for the diplomats, this project represents a danger for the effectiveness and the prestige of France.
