An Indian woman seeks help from her family in New Delhi to save her from Shingal and Bawaji in Kuwait

An Indian expatriate did not find any direct way to inform the Kuwaiti police that two of her compatriots are holding her and torturing her, so she resorted to the help of her country's government, through a video clip she filmed from inside her prison and sent via WhatsApp to her relatives in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.

The newspaper "Al-Qabas" quoted the Indian "New Indian Express", that the young woman named "Sravani" appeared in the video, crying, asking her relatives to inform the state government in order to communicate through official channels with the concerned Kuwaiti authorities to save her from her ordeal.

Sarafani clarified in her appeal that her detainees are mediators employing Indian maids, explaining that they had initially assigned her to work for a family in Kuwait.

She added, "After I resolved to quit work, mediator Shingal and his partner Bawaji locked me in a filthy room a few days ago and tortured me physically and psychologically while depriving me of food."

The maid's parents told The New Indian Express that they have repeatedly tried to contact these two mediators to negotiate with them, but their repeated attempts have not led to any result so far.

On the basis of the video clip, the husband of the distressed maid turned to the local media in India in the hope of conveying her distress to the relevant officials in Andhra Pradesh to reach out to their Kuwaiti counterparts to help her.
