The Al Ain Youth Center of the Emirates Heritage Club launched the Heritage Camel Program, which is organized by its male students, aged 10-15 years, and will continue until June 30, in the Saih Sabra area of ​​Al Ain.

The program, which is implemented by a group of specialized trainers, provides information to students about preparing camels for racing. It consists of five main axes: the beginning of the production of racing camels, nutrition and disease prevention, requirements for racing camels, education of camels (literature), camel riding and the beginning of the race.

For his part, the Director of Al Ain Center Khalifa Butti Al Shamsi said that the organization of the program, which was launched last Tuesday, comes within the framework of the club’s efforts to care and preserve the heritage of parents and grandparents, especially heritage sports, which are an important part of the history and culture of the UAE, and to ensure its documentation and transmission. To the generations, adding that camels are one of the most important local Bedouin civilizational and cultural legacies, and authentic Arab camel races are one of the most distinctive and popular heritage sports in the country, because of its excitement, suspense and revival of folklore.

Al Shamsi pointed out that the heritage camel program aims to provide students at this early age with experience and knowledge of their original heritage and its distinctive vocabulary, in an effort to refine and consolidate their national identity.
