After almost two years of trial against rapper Bushido's former business partner, the Berlin district court has drawn an interim balance.

According to this, some allegations of the indictment against Arafat Abou-Chaker and three of his co-accused brothers have not been confirmed from the point of view of the criminal court as of the current status.

According to the preliminary assessment of the court, an attempted severe predatory extortion cannot be assumed, said the presiding judge on Wednesday.

A deprivation of liberty is also not detectable according to the current status.

The process is about alleged crimes against Bushido, whose real name is Anis Mohamed Ferchichi.

The charges against Arafat Abou-Chaker, a Berlin clan chief, and three of his brothers are deprivation of liberty, attempted severe extortion, coercion, dangerous bodily harm, insult and infidelity.

According to the rapper, his longtime business partner and his brothers are said to have locked him in an office on January 18, 2018, verbally abused, threatened and injured him.

Arafat Abou-Chaker requested unauthorized payments.

The 43-year-old musician compared his relationship with Arafat Abou-Chaker to a forced marriage in court and said he had endured "involuntary payments" over the years.

In his testimony, Bushido said he gave in for a long time out of fear.

He and his family are under personal protection.

On the 71st day of the hearing, the court said that according to a preliminary assessment, the accused Arafat Abou-Chaker could not be assumed to have no claim for payment.

There was a written contract between the parties.

Even a deliberate deprivation of liberty cannot be proven according to the current status of the evidence - "Mr. Ferchichi was able to leave the office," said the presiding judge.

According to the preliminary assessment of the court, a 51-year-old brother of Arafat Abou-Chaker should be acquitted.

The trial is scheduled to continue on June 15 with the questioning of another witness.

So far, the 38th Grand Trial Chamber has scheduled trial days through October 26th.
