The Dubai International Writing Program, one of the initiatives of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation, launched the translation workshop 2020, the short story workshop 2020, and the youth literature workshop 2020, during the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, which concluded its 31st session, last May 29.

The Foundation participated in a distinguished pavilion in the exhibition, which witnessed the organization of a number of activities and knowledge events, with the participation of a group of writers, thinkers and experts concerned with the fields of knowledge production and dissemination.

The Dubai International Writing Program is one of the Foundation’s initiatives that contribute to enriching the intellectual and literary movement in the UAE and around the world. It aims to encourage and empower young talents who have the gift of writing in various fields of knowledge, by enrolling them in specialized training programs in each field of writing. Jamal bin Huwaireb, Executive Director of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation, said: “The Dubai International Writing Program has provided the Arab knowledge arena with more than 300 young writers, whose talents have been honed and developed to become qualified to write and join the Writers Club. The launch of the books that were completed within the Dubai International Writing Program included the organization of various discussion seminars throughout the days of the exhibition, which attracted a large public presence, which was reflected in the nature of the dialogue that took place between the trainees, trainers and the public, so that each member of the program presented the mechanism of his book completion, and the role of the trainer in directing and correcting it as a book. An achievement added to the Arabic library.

The launch of the books of the Dubai International Writing Program came in conjunction with the announcement of new training workshops entitled "Children's Workshop...The Emirates Tomorrow", "Adolescents' Workshop...Dubai Future", and "Scientific Translation Workshop", which focus on the scientific aspect of translation.

The Foundation provided visitors to its pavilion at the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, the opportunity to learn about its services and role, through a detailed explanation provided by the work team about its most prominent initiatives and projects.
