The second largest fish in South Africa is caught

Three South African fishermen battled the giant blue marlin, the largest fish of all time, and caught it during a 6-day fishing trip in Cape Verde.

The fishermen wrestled with the giant fish for about 30 minutes, before they were able to pull it into the boat and return to the dock.

Weighing 1,370 pounds, the giant fish looked more like a science fiction movie than an actual animal.

The fishermen weighed the fish upon their return, and found that although it was huge, it was not the largest ever in the water.

The marlin was 32 pounds lighter than the 1,402 pound IGFA All Tackle world record holder fish caught in Brazil in 1992.

The fishermen slaughtered the fish and distributed its meat to the entire local population, and it is believed that there will be enough meat to feed several families for days, if not weeks.
