A large majority of French people, namely 92%, believe that their health coverage is good.

This is revealed by a survey conducted by the mutual Malakoff Humanis with 22,000 individuals but also companies, report our colleagues from

on Tuesday.

89% of French people believe that they are well protected

Malakoff Humanis was keen to know the point of view and expectations of its customers in a context where the former Minister of Health had expressed his desire to extend the field of intervention of Health Insurance to the detriment of mutual insurance companies, insurers and provident institutions.

The conclusions of the mutual insurance company's survey are clear: 89% of those surveyed consider that they are well protected.

“They believe that the health system, which articulates Social Security and complementary health, works well”, explained to the Ile-de-France daily Laurent Borella, health director of the mutual.

A desire for simpler and more readable contracts

But they are also 80% to want a simpler and more readable contract while 48% say they do not really know everything that their mutual contract covers or how high they are insured.

"Contracts are by nature difficult to read because the nomenclatures of care are complex", conceded Laurent Borella before underlining his desire "to provide information on the level of overall reimbursement, beyond the sole support of the mutual, to allow policyholders to understand the overall cost of care and the rest to be paid.
