Slimming creams never keep their promises.

The magazine 60 million consumers looked at these products which present themselves as miracles without ever really being so.

Nine "slimming" creams have been tested and these experiments show "the gap between promises and results", assures the latest issue of the magazine published by the National Consumer Institute.

“In the end, there has been little change” for ten years – the date of their last tests on the question – explains Adélaïde Robert, who signed this file.

“As for the loss of thigh circumference, we are far from the promises of the manufacturers.

Some give hope for a drop of more than 3 cm in thigh circumference, on average, when none of our panelists has obtained such a result, ”she underlines, questioned by our colleagues from FranceInfo.

“These products do not make you lose weight”

To build this case, 60 million consumers had each of the nine products tested by around thirty women.

The evolution was followed after 14 and 28 days.

And the observation is clear: even if summer is approaching and the injunctions to have a “summer body” are increasing, “these products do not make you lose weight”.

Besides, on the component side, there are very few new features.

Caffeine is the product whose effectiveness has been “best demonstrated”.

Mustard powder, capsaicin, jojoba oil… Adélaïde Robert repeats, among these active ingredients, “none is miraculous”.

Worse still, “an old test from our magazine showed that it was the massage performed to apply these products that was largely responsible for their effectiveness”.

What to put back the genius of the perfect body in a few applications in the bottle...
