The Ukrainian music group Kalush Orchestra, winner of the 2022 edition of Eurovision two weeks ago, has decided to put the won trophy up for sale.

They immediately donated the 900,000 dollars pocketed, for the benefit of the Ukrainian army, struggling with the Russian forces since February 24.

It is a strong gesture made by the winners of Eurovision 2022. The Ukrainian music group Kalush Orchestra auctioned off its trophy and won 900,000 dollars.

A sum directly donated to a foundation helping the Ukrainian armed forces.

The trophy, a large crystal microphone with the Eurovision logo, was auctioned off on Facebook.

It was won by the company Whitebit, which specializes in trading Bitcoins.

"You guys are amazing!"

The money from these auctions – which it was possible to participate in using cryptocurrencies – will be donated to the Prytula Foundation, which helps the Ukrainian army, the group said on Instagram.

"You guys are amazing!" exclaimed the Kalush group on the social network on Sunday evening.

"Special thanks to the Whitebit team who bought the trophy for 900,000 dollars (837,000 euros) and who are now the rightful owners."
