The National Police Agency has decided to embark on the development of an unmanned aerial vehicle in collaboration with JAXA = Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency in order to help quickly grasp the damage and guard in the event of a disaster.

We are aiming for practical use in three years at the earliest.

In recent years, police nationwide have increased their response to large-scale disasters and security of events attended by VIPs, and the issue is how to efficiently carry out activities with a limited number of personnel.

Under these circumstances, the National Police Agency has decided to start developing a high-performance unmanned aerial vehicle in collaboration with JAXA = Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency from this year.

In the event of a disaster, the camera of an unmanned aerial vehicle can be used to quickly grasp the damage situation, and it is assumed that suspicious persons will be monitored from the sky around the venue where large-scale security is performed. It means that there is.

For practical use, it is necessary to ensure a high degree of security so that the aircraft will not be hijacked by cyber attacks and the captured images and flight data will not be stolen.

For this reason, we plan to conduct demonstration experiments with the cooperation of JAXA, which has a track record of developing unmanned aerial vehicles, and proceed with research aimed at ensuring the required performance and security.

The National Police Agency aims to put it to practical use in 2025, three years later at the earliest, and first wants to utilize it for security at the Osaka and Kansai Expo.
