In the accident where a tour boat sank off the Shiretoko Peninsula in Hokkaido, the Japan Coast Guard continued to conduct intensive searches over a wide area around Kunashir Island in the Northern Territories for 30 days, and continued to strengthen its posture to find out whereabouts. I am rushing to find 12 people who have not.

On the 23rd of last month, 14 passengers were killed in the accident where the tour boat "KAZU 1" (19 tons) sank off the coast of the Shiretoko Peninsula, and the whereabouts of 12 people are still unknown.

The missing person was not found in the vicinity of the site at the end of last month 28th, as well as in the inside of the tour boat that was withdrawn from the seabed, and the Japan Coast Guard has strengthened its posture and concentrated for 3 days from 29th. I am searching for it.

On the 30th, ships and aircraft such as the Japan Coast Guard and the Self-Defense Forces will search a wide area from the area around the Shiretoko Peninsula to the area around Kunashir Island in the Northern Territories.

Also, on the 30th, private tour boats will cooperate in the search while watching the weather conditions.

After the briefing session for the passengers' families held on the 29th, Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Kimura said, "There was an exchange with the feeling that some of the families were frustrated."

The 1st Regional Coast Guard Headquarters will make a decision on the future search posture based on a three-day intensive search.

On the other hand, the Japan Coast Guard has begun full-scale investigation of the cause of the accident, such as on-site inspection of the hull lifted from the seabed on the 28th. I am suspicious and will proceed with the investigation.
