In Nishiizu Town, Shizuoka Prefecture, the "Amakusa Tokoroten Festival" has begun, in which Tokoroten made from the specialty gelidiaceae is served to tourists.

This festival is held every year at this time of year by the Nishiizu Town Tourism Association to promote the local specialty, Gelidiaceae.

At the open space of Dogashima, Nishiizu Town, which was the venue, 1000 meals of tokoroten made from gelidiaceae from Suruga Bay were prepared and served free of charge to tourists.

When the visitors receive the tokoroten that has been neatly served in a bowl using a "tsuke stick", they taste it with the local flavors of sanbaizu, tsukudani seaweed, and mustard, and the children sprinkle black honey. I was eating.

A man who visited from Fuji City as a parent and child said that it was "fresh and delicious", and a girl who had never experienced Tokoroten said that she was "sweet and delicious" after eating black honey.

At the venue, Tokoroten's raw material, Gelidium amansii, was also on sale, and visitors were buying it one after another.
