It was confirmed that a Korean research vessel was conducting an oceanographic survey in Japan's EEZ = Exclusive Economic Zone around Takeshima, Shimane Prefecture.

The Githabul Ministry strongly protested that it was against UN regulations and should be stopped immediately.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the afternoon of the 29th, a research vessel "Hae Yang 2000" belonging to the National Marine Research Institute of South Korea in Japan's exclusive economic zone around Takeshima in Shimane Prefecture was intermittently on the wire. A patrol boat of the Japan Coast Guard confirmed that such things were dropped into the sea and sailed.

Therefore, when the Ministry of Foreign Affairs inquired, the Korean side admitted that it was conducting an investigation.

In response to this, the Director of the Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Funakoshi, conducted a marine survey in Japan's exclusive economic zone without prior consent, which was contrary to UN regulations and was not accepted and was immediately canceled. I strongly protested that it should be done.

On the other hand, the Korean government explained the traditional position of the Korean side.

In the exclusive economic zone around Takeshima, it was confirmed that a foreign-registered marine research vessel requested by a Korean state-owned company was sailing earlier this month, and the Japanese government may be conducting research activities. The South Korean government explained that it was "not conducting an investigation," while saying that it would not be accepted.

Requested cancellation of Japan Coast Guard Headquarters

According to the 8th Regional Coast Guard Headquarters, from the 28th to the 29th, a Korean maritime patrol boat is extending into the sea in Japan's exclusive economic zone north of Takeshima in Shimane Prefecture. It is confirmed by the patrol boat of the Agency.

The Japan Coast Guard Headquarters shared information with related ministries and agencies and continued to be vigilant. In Japan's exclusive economic zone, about 74 kilometers north of Takeshima in the prefecture, the investigation was requested to be stopped by radio, saying that investigation activities without Japan's consent were not allowed.

There was no response from the Korean research vessel.
