Su Zhengmin was born in Shamarada Township, Xide County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province.
In 2013, 15-year-old Su Zhengmin suffered a family accident. His father, who worked in a brick factory, suffered from overwork and died.
Su Zhengmin chose to drop out of school because his father owed hundreds of thousands of yuan in foreign debts for medical treatment and could not bear to see his mother working hard.
In the end, with the help of the local government and caring people, Su Zhengmin returned to school.
In 2017, he was admitted to Zhongnan University of Economics and Law through the national preparatory enrollment plan in contiguous poverty-stricken areas of ethnic minorities, becoming the first student in the township to be admitted to a key university.
During the university holiday, he returned to his hometown of Liangshan to participate in volunteer activities.
In 2019, he launched the "Liangshan Ayi Study Aid Program". So far, more than 180 students and alumni have joined the study aid program, raising a total of 350,000 yuan in public welfare materials and education funds, and subsidizing 66 Liangshan students.
Because of his outstanding performance, Su Zhengmin won the 4th "Justice, Beauty, Morality Award" of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, Hubei Youth May 4th Medal, Chinese University Student Self-improvement Star, National University Student Person of the Year and many other honors.
In 2020, with the support of the school, the "Su Zhengmin Volunteer Service Team" was officially established.
In 2021, he will integrate all the volunteer service projects at hand into the "Ayi Forest" plan to provide more than 1,000 students in Liangshan with study and daily necessities and scholarships.
After graduation, he returned to his hometown as a teacher

This year, Su Zhengmin signed up for the postgraduate teaching group of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, and he is the head of the teaching group.
At the end of August, he will go back to Liangshan to become a teaching assistant teacher, and he will return to the school for postgraduate study after one year of teaching assistantship.
