Five years have passed since Ruben Östlund was last awarded the Palme d'Or for best film (“The square”).

On Saturday night, the Swedish star director received the award again.

Now for the contemporary satire "Triangle of sadness", which according to Östlund himself is an open flirtation with the 1970s at the same time wild and intellectual film tradition "which created a fun conversation afterwards".

The film, which has its starting point in the fashion world, is a study of what happens when a group of people are stranded.

At the center of the plot is a couple, also photo models, played by Harris Dickinson and Charlbi Dean, who together are invited on a luxury yacht with society's elite.

When the yacht goes under and the passengers end up on a desert island, one of the film's crucial questions is asked at its peak: What significance does a person's appearance capital really have?

Tarik Saleh was awarded the prize for best screenplay for his thriller "Boy from heaven".
