Yamaguchi Prefecture and Shimonoseki City announced on the 27th that it was confirmed that 280 new people were infected with the new coronavirus.
A total of 43,782 people have been confirmed to be infected in the prefecture.
Shimonoseki City also announced that a man infected with the new coronavirus died on the 26th.
The death toll of infected people in the prefecture has reached 176.
