The spokesman for the Riyadh police, Major Khaled Al-Kuraides, said that, with reference to what was circulated on social media about a girl being attacked and abused by her family, the security authorities received a report of a girl entering the hospital and her death, may God have mercy on her later.

The police spokesman explained, via the Public Security account on Twitter, that immediately after receiving the report, the incident took place, the suspects were arrested, the legal procedures were completed against them, and they were referred to the Public Prosecution.

Yesterday evening, Thursday, the Saudi authorities announced the death of a girl as a result of assault and violence by her relatives, according to what was reported by the General Security account on Twitter.

Twitter was abuzz with the news of the death of a Saudi girl after they said that she had been tortured by her father.

The hashtag #killed_al-Anoud became one of the most popular hashtags in Saudi Arabia on Twitter, where Twitter users shared the story of the dead girl.

Tweeters claimed that the victim's father asked her to refuse a husband who proposed to her for reasons related to unequal lineage, but that she was tortured after her father discovered that she was communicating with the man who proposed to her over the phone.

Tweeters said, according to the "Al-Hurra" website, that her father and two of her brothers held her at home for a week before her condition deteriorated and she was transferred to King Fahd Hospital in Riyadh, where she died, according to their claim.

On the other hand, a tweeter, who said that she is a sister to the deceased girl, claimed that her sister died as a result of a sharp drop in pressure that led to her heart stopping 3 times before her brain death, which made her stay in the hospital for 19 days before her death.

It was not possible to verify information on social media about this case.
