On May 26, the Jokhang Temple Branch of the Tibet Autonomous Region Library and the Jokhang Temple Ancient Books Museum of the Tibet Autonomous Region Ancient Books Protection Center were officially unveiled at the Jokhang Temple.

This is another temple to establish a branch after Drepung Monastery in Lhasa.

Since 2006, Jokhang Temple and Sera Temple have jointly funded the "Sezhao Buddhist Classics Collection and Printing Room", which has collected nearly 10,000 ancient books and published more than 500 ancient classics.

In addition, among the many cultural relics in the collection of the Jokhang Temple, not only the 12-year-old Sakyamuni statues brought by Princess Wencheng when she entered Tibet, but also precious cultural relics such as the portraits of sixteen Arhat thangkas drawn in traditional Chinese painting style. The protection, development and utilization of these ancient books and cultural relics will further highlight the important role of the common symbols of Chinese culture in the development of Tibetan culture, and truly make cultural achievements benefit the public.
