Jordanian women are angry at an advertisement describing an obese woman as a "watermelon" and promising to turn her into a "cucumber"!

An advertisement for a slimming product on social media platforms angered women in Jordan, after he described obese women as a "watermelon" and promised them to turn them through this product into a "cucumber", a metaphor for skinny.

A torrent of comments invaded the communication sites, rejecting the method of attracting the advertiser about its slimming product, due to the dire psychological effects it may have on those who suffer from obesity.

The ad stated: "You will be very happy!! When you are a watermelon and you become a cucumber," the post described fat women as "watermelon" and others as "cucumbers", which angered many women and their defenders.

Many demanded the concerned authorities to monitor such advertisements, and to follow them up greatly after they became a worrying phenomenon, as it was not long before an advertisement spread last Ramadan on the back of public transport buses for a company that produces rice, whose owners promise the woman that her husband will not divorce her if she uses it in her cooking.
