In early summer, the ancient ruins of Camel City on the Gobi Desert in Xitan Village, Camel Town, Gaotai County, Zhangye City, in the middle of the Hexi Corridor of Gansu Province, are desolate and magnificent under the setting sun, and the broken walls can hardly hide the glorious history.

The ancient site of Camel City is a large-scale Han and Tang ancient cultural site on the Silk Road, with an existing area of about 300,000 square meters.

After more than 2,000 years of history, this ancient city is still relatively intact. It is currently one of the best-preserved ancient cities in China from the Han, Liang and Tang dynasties. In 1996, the Camel City site was announced by the State Council as the fourth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
