After the official screening of Cannes Film Festival, director Chan-wook Park's new film 'Decision to break up' recorded the highest score in overall ratings from various media and critics around the world.

During the Cannes Film Festival, the film media screendaily and le film francais publish daily star ratings for screens in competition and notable screenings.

Director Park Chan-wook's 'Decision to break up', which was released on the 23rd (local time), received a score of 3.2 from Screen Daily.

This is the highest score among the 12 competing films that have been released so far, and it is the only film to have a rating of 3 or more.

Le Film Francaise received the Palme d'Or mark from 2 out of 11 people with the highest evaluation.

James Gray's 'Armageddon Time', which received the highest rating until the middle of the film festival, received five Palme d'Or marks.

This is the star rating given by critics and foreign media reporters.

It has nothing to do with the judges who decide the direction of the Palme d'Or.

However, it is a good indicator in that you can feel the reactions of filmmakers from overseas countries to the work.

At the Cannes Film Festival, the jury's disposition greatly influences the judging results.

Since the 10 judges do not all have the same taste with movie theaters, the Palme d'Or award is decided after repeated voting at film festivals.

As an exception, 'Parasite' in 2019 won the Palme d'Or by unanimous judgement.

The 75th Cannes Film Festival has turned around.

Twelve films have been released in the competition section so far, and the future of the Palme d'Or is decided through the release of the remaining nine films.

Among them is the Korean film 'The Broker' directed by Hirokazu Koreeda.

Director Park Chan-wook won the Jury's Grand Prize (2nd prize) for "Oldboy" in 2004 and the Jury's Award (3rd prize) for "Bat" in 2009.

'The Handmaiden', which was invited to the competition section six years ago and received favorable reviews, did not receive the award.

The high expectations for the award for 'The Decision to Break Up' is because the atmosphere is being created that it is time for director Park Chan-wook to receive the Palme d'Or award or director's award.

After the movie was released locally, the Hollywood Reporter in the US praised him as "a world-class master who has reached the apex", and the deadline was praised, "You can see why Park Chan-wook is the best director in the world in everything in this film."

In addition, the British Guardian gave a five-star rating and welcomed the return of the master with open arms.

The winners of the Cannes Film Festival will be announced at the closing ceremony on the 28th.
