Did you miss the news this early morning?

We've put together a recap to help you see things more clearly.

Damien Abad says he is "innocent" of rape charges

While he is accused of rape, Damien Abad once again stepped up to the plate on Monday to defend himself.

He especially took the opportunity to say that he intended to remain in government.

“Should an innocent man resign?

I don't think so, ”insisted the new Minister of Solidarity.

“I dispute the accusations against me with the greatest firmness (…) I have never raped a single woman in my life,” he added during a press statement in Saint-Jean-le. -Vieux, his constituency of Ain.

The minister also reiterated his main line of defense: according to him, because of his disability which hinders his mobility, the facts attributed to him are “materially impossible”.

The Mayor asks companies that can to raise wages

At the start of the second five-year term, the Borne government has notably been given the task of defending purchasing power.

Faced with accelerating inflation, the Minister of the Economy therefore called on companies that can to "increase wages", during a meeting in Bercy with employers' organizations.

“Our compatriots must say to themselves, “it pays me to work”, and not “it costs me dearly”, because of the price of gasoline, added Bruno Le Maire.

Addressing the bosses, he wished "that, all together, we can provide answers to this", while rejecting "general increases, everywhere, decided by the administration".

But according to the participants, it will be difficult to respond largely to this demand due to the limited room for maneuver of many companies.

Appeals court to rule on rape charges against Besson

It's once again the hour of the verdict for an emblematic file of the #MeToo era.

The Paris Court of Appeal will indeed rule this Tuesday morning on the rape charges against director Luc Besson, who was dismissed in December.

On April 19, the investigating chamber examined the appeal of the Dutch-Belgian actress Sand Van Roy against the abandonment of the proceedings from which the French filmmaker and producer benefited on December 9.

The public prosecutor requested confirmation of the dismissal.
